THE NEW MEXICO SYMPHONIC CHORUS 2020-2021 SEASON
The New Mexico Symphonic Chorus Podcast was launched in October, 2020.Maestro Roger Melone takes you on a journey through the world of Symphonic Choral music. Along the way, special guests, subject specialists, friends, and perhaps even a few Chorus members will join in conversation with Maestro Melone. Together, they will blend music history, discussion, and music into a creative, entertaining, and informative program!
As a Patron, your contribution allows us to remain operational and stay engaged as a musical nonprofit, at a time when our main stream of income (concerts) is suspended. The Chorus returns in May, 2021.We are thrilled to announce that the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater will host the New Mexico Symphonic Chorus on May 2, 2021. On the program is the World Premiere of The Red Earth: In the Desert, commissioned for the Chorus, and written by New Mexico composer, Mary Lynn Place Badarak. Also on the program is music of Samuel Barber, Aaron Copland, and Carlos Chávez. Andrew Connors, Director of the Albuquerque Museum, will begin the event with a talk about our concert and the Diego Rivera Exhibit at the Museum.
Because the concert is outdoors, the Chorus will be socially distanced and masked. The open space of the Amphitheater will allow our audience the space to be socially distanced as well. We hope you will join us for this exciting, long-awaited event! |
